Transformative Questions
What would you do with your life if money were no object?
My partner and I tend to have amazing conversations when we step away from our daily routines — when we go on long drives or are on vacation. About 10 months ago, she asked me, “What would you do with your life if money were no object?” My response came from a very deep part of me, my wise core self who knows my journey before I do.
At the time, I was a college professor who would be going up for tenure that fall. Despite loving my job, my colleagues and students, I responded that I would go back to my department, turn down the opportunity to go up for tenure, give them the best I had for one more academic year, and take my life in a different direction — to where I had no idea. Fast forward 10 months and this week I wrapped up my job as a college professor and begin my new journey as a life coach. In a few weeks, my partner and I are moving to the southwest to create entirely new lives.
Mind you, I am not someone for whom money is no object. Each step on this path has been a lesson in faith and trust. With all my courage, I chose to listen with my intuitive heart to my wise core self who called me away from safety and security into unchartered territory.
With whom in your life can you share transformative conversations? Who will support you in connecting with your core self? What could you create if you let go of fear?
